Hawaii Council of Teachers of Mathematics
HCTM is a local affiliate of the National Council of Teachers of Mathematics (NCTM). When you join or renew your membership with NCTM, be sure to list HCTM as your affiliate membership.
The purposes of this organization shall be:
To provide teachers with opportunities for the exchange of ideas and materials regarding instruction in mathematics,
to further the cooperative study of ideas relating to the teaching of mathematics at the elementary, secondary, and college levels,
to foster more effective mathematics teaching at all levels of instruction in the schools of Hawaii by offering meetings and workshops of the types not available through other organizations and institutions in Hawaii, and
to provide a medium for liaison with the National Council of Teachers of Mathematics.

Hawaii Council of Teachers of Mathematics (HCTM) is seeking qualified candidates for the following positions to serve during the 2023-24 school year:

4-yr College Director
2-yr College Director
High School Director
Middle School Director
Elementary School Director
Membership Director

Check out our Constitution and Bylaws page for information on board member positions. You must be an HCTM member in good standing in order to run for election. In addition, as an Executive Board member you must also be a National Council of Teachers of Mathematics (NCTM) member for our non-profit organization to stay in good standing as an affiliate.
